It should be something that has a lot of meaning to you.
Explain why you chose your song.
Be creative, I’m interested!

    For all the Saints:
It was played at my Grandfathers funeral, such a beautiful hymn.

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty:
My death is not to be a totally solemn occasion, I want people to remember that this was God’s plan for me.

    Abide with Me:
To remind everyone that we all walk with God, all the way.

Thats a hard one, and kind of morbid, but somewhere over the rainbow by Louis Armstrong has this really creepy-calming-spiritual fell that gives me chills everytime I hear it.

    Carol of the Bells

I love Christmas music and want just the musical score and bells (lyrics aren’t necessary…unless I pass at Christmas time). I want the version done by the Ray Coniff singers. It is very happy and the background music is all bells.

The Doors — “When the Music’s Over” It just seemed appropriate when I decided that it would be my funeral song. At that time I was younger & wilder, but I never changed my mind. If I think about it there are other good choices, like “Don’t Fear the Reaper” by Blue Oyster Cult or John Lennon”s Imagine. Now you’ve got me thinking..hummmmm.

It is well with my soul, because everything would be well obviously because I’d be dead, plus Im going t Heaven. On my way home, by Enya, because it sounds like my spirit is floating through the Heavens away from my body into a peacful place

I want the song titled ” I raise my hat to the makers of the stars”. It was the song my husband and I had at our wedding. And I had it played at his funeral 3 1/2yrs. ago. He was my soul mate, It is very difficult to live here without him. When I die, HE will come to me with that song. And we will together again forever.

I was there to hear your borning cry.

I get emotional when I hear that song, but it sums up life and our connection to God.

There’s a new kind of music coming out in about 4-5 decades. I’m hoping that that is what will be played at mine.

Time to say goodbye. The one with Sarah Brightman. This song rips my Wife’s guts out and as She loves me so much I think it would be purging for Her to hear it at that moment. Now before you judge me as a monster I should point out that She likes to cry; I don’t know why or understand it but She is my love and if that’s what She likes I’m okay with it. It has a profound ethereal cadence that allows emotion to transcend, if you have not had the pleasure to hear it; it makes me cry too.

Brahms’ German Requiem…beautiful music, and he specifically never quite “got around to mentioning Jesus Christ” in it, so it’s not overly religious.

    Songs by Anne Murray.

The hymn, “I beg your pardon, no one ever promised you a rose garden”, resonates in my head, when I visualize myself in my coffin.
At the end of the road, I am what life has dealt me.
I gave life my best effort, hardly ever went the way I wanted it to go for myself of others.
Perhaps then I will finally get my rose garden.
