I usually sing softer songs, I’ve sung Wishing you were somehow here again and unexpected song for example, but i also like cool songs like diamonds are a girls’ best friend. any ideas for my show choir’s Spring Fling?

Please DON’T tell me anything from the popular shows like Phantom, Wicked, or Hairspray. I want original.

and the song would be the song i’m going to try out with for my next show chior.
as in a broadway song :)

well…it kind of depends on your range. and do you want classic type or like…something country-ish or modern sounding?

you can sing just about anything, if you’re a soprano. there’s a really good song called “love song” and it’s by sara bareilles
it’s really a good, upbeat song, and i do know a soprano who’s sang it before.
i hope you like it, and good luck!

I’m a soprano voice major at a University so i have some experience being in the same boat as you. if you’re looking for original, try going back as far as the 20’s, 30s and 40’s some of the most fun i’ve ever had singing for events was when i sang songs like “when i fall in love”, “can’t help falling in love with you” and the like. also, if you’re looking for contemporary the musical Jerkyll and Hyde has some beautiful stuff that isn’t as well known as the Phantom, Wicked and Hairspray… Good luck! :)
