If you’re aiming for a solo, “Defying Gravity” or “No Good Deed Goes Unpunished” from “Wicked” are two good songs for showing off your talent. “Defying Gravity” is probably the easier one to sing though.

“As Long as He Needs Me” from Oliver
“All That Jazz” from Chicago
“I Cain’t Say No” from Oklahoma
“Roxie” from Chicago
“Life of the Party” from ?
Also I would check out stageagent.com. It is really cool!

Is your throat bothering you do to practicing? You may have picked something with a little to much range. I would stay away from current Broadway songs because everyone else will be singing them and the people judging you may begin to tune out. Sing and record your voice and play it back. Remember you will be nervous, so don’t pick a difficult piece unless your use to singing solo. Good luck!
