What broadway song should I sing for a Sound of Music audition?

I’m 14, but can look older or younger. Preferably older. I can ding alto/soprano and I was hoping to find a song thats similar to the music from Sound of Music. It MUST be from a different broadway.

Try something from The Fantastiks. It was the longest running musical on Broadway. I love it.
Good luck with the audition!

My favorite song from a broadway musical is “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Miserables. It’s a beautiful song. If you want something more upbeat try something from Mama Mia. The songs are really fun.

How about “In My Own Little Corner” from Rogers’ and Hammerstein’s Cinderella (not the Disney cartoon- but they did produce a movie version with Whitney Houston) similar style as the same composers
or more R&H
“Many a New Day” or “People Will Say We’re In Love” (Laurie’s verse) from Oklahoma, “When I Marry Mr Snow” from Carousel
“Goodnight My Someone” from Music Man different composer -similar style and era
“Wouldn’t It Be Loverly” from My Fair Lady

Smirks is right — use another R and H. If you’re going for Liesl (”I am 16 Going ON 17″), then try someting like “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair” from SOuth Pacific.
